WikiSyriaca is a general encyclopedia on Syriac studies and the Syriac cultural heritage written by specialized scholars (see WikiSyriaca:Contributors). The project was envisaged by George A. Kiraz who first began compiling a lemma list for an encyclopedia back in 1982. In its online version, WikiSyriaca spans all disciplines and time periods, and is hosted by Beth Mardutho. Printed versions of WikiSyriaca will be published by Gorgias Press in the future. The first publication is planed to appear in 2008 consisting of ca. 500 entries under the title Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Syriac Heritage (EDSH).
