Beth Mardutho: The Syriac Institute ("Beth Mardutho") has created this privacy policy for the benefit of its members, sponsors, and visitors. Registration Information

Upon registering with Beth Mardutho, via our web site or at a Beth Mardutho event, our organization (may) request individual name, organization name, and preferred contact information such as postal address, telephone or facsimile number, e-mail address, or Internet site URL.

Use of the Information

The information you provide to Beth Mardutho is used to contact our members, and in keeping with the mission of Beth Mardutho, this information is used to facilitate member networking. The information collected is included in the online membership directory. (Members are given the option upon registration to have membership information included/excluded in directory).

However, because Beth Mardutho is committed to preventing the "spamming" (sending unsolicited commercial e-mail) of members by third parties, Beth Mardutho does not otherwise disseminate member information to third parties.

E-mail List

Beth Mardutho maintains two mailing lists:
(1) SyrCOM - A general discussion list for Meltho fonts and Syriac computing related topics.
(2) Hugoye - A discussion list devoted to the academic field of Syriac studies. Intended for the use of academic scholars, Hugoye-list is not an appropriate forum for amateur inquiries. The framework for discussion is academic and non-political.

Members may be added to the mailing lists upon registration.

Users may be removed from any of the lists by making a request via:

Use of IP Addresses

The Beth Mardutho web site collects aggregate information site-wide, including anonymous site statistics. The web site logs domain names and/or IP addresses for systems administration purposes. These statistics enable Beth Mardutho to know which aspects of the Beth Mardutho site are popular and those which are not.

Cookies

The Beth Mardutho web site does not currently use "cookies" technology.
