Concordance to the Syriac New Testament

“This work is undoubtedly one of the finest fruits to date from the application of computer technology to Semitic Studies.”

John F. Healey, University of Manchester
Journal of Semitic Studies, vol. 40 (1995)

This Concordance allows the user to find all the verses in the Syriac New Testament where a particular word occurs. It is also a helpful tool for the scholar who wants to move beyond the Greek text, as this Concordance gives the scholar access to one of the oldest translations of the Bible: the antiquity of the Syriac New Testament is unquestioned.

The Concordance is a necessary tool to the serious priest, seminarian, and lay-person. If one is looking for a specific verse and only remembers one word, the verse can be looked-up very easily.

Published in a 6-volume, 4,600 page set, the Concordance is well organized.

The Concordance was produced from the Syriac Electronic Data Retrieval Archive (SEDRA), one of the first projects of Beth Mardutho. The SEDRA database was laterly used in the production of an online Aramaic lexicon.

This Concordance was published by E.J. Brill and is available from Amazon.com
